During the afternoon, the focus will be on the strategic area of Health & Biotech, with a workshop dedicated to the topic of Integrated Health Technologies: Challenges and Future Directions of Tissue Engineering.

The session will bring together academic and industry experts to discuss emerging technologies that are shaping the future of tissue engineering and translational biomedical research. Topics covered will include:

- Advanced biological modeling platforms, including bioreactors;
- Bioactive materials for tissue regeneration;
- Muscle-on-chip systems for therapy development;
- Human-relevant barrier models for microbiome research.

Guest speakers include:
- Diana Massai (PoliTO, Italy) - “Engineering complexity: Bioreactors as technological platforms for tissue modeling, mechanobiology investigation, and translational innovation“
- Malgorzata Gazińska (Wroclaw Tech, Poland) - “Bioactive elastomeric composites for tissue regeneration”
- Edgar Gomes (Faculdade de Medicina da ULisboa, Portugal) - “Generation of human muscle-on-chip devices for muscle therapies development”
- Daniela Pacheco (Bc3gel) - “Human-relevant Barrier Models to Support Microbiome Research”

The program includes pitch sessions by companies and researchers, as well as an AAVANZ training session dedicated to Horizon Europe funding opportunities for international R&D projects in Health.
