Unite! Widening Training at UPC (Barcelona) - Transparency, Gender Balance and Cultural Diversity
This 3-day in-person training focuses on Transparency, Gender Balance and Cultural Diversity in research environments, with one guiding question: how do we build research environments that are fair, transparent and inclusive in everyday practice?
What you’ll gain ?

- Tools to support gender balance and cultural diversity
- Multicultural dynamics in academia
- How to use existing policies and data in your institution to support fairness and inclusion
- Peer exchange across Unite! universities and time to turn learning into action
Format : 3-day in-person training (lunch-to-lunch), interactive sessions , workshops, peer work, networking moments.
Who should apply: PHD students and Early Career Researchers across Unite! partner universities and Widening universities
- Number of available slots for ULisboa participants: 6
- Number of available slots for Wrocław Tech participants: 6
- Number of available slots for each other Unite! University : 1 per Unite! university
- Number of available slots for other Widening university : 4
- The host institution (UPC) will have several available slots for its Early-stage Research Career staff.
Participation & costs: Participation is free of charge. Travel and accommodation are also covered, following Unite! Widening rules and will be confirmed to selected participants, for participants from ULisboa and WroclawTech. For other participants, travels costs can be covered via other schemes such as Erasmus+.
Application procedure :
All applicants will receive information about the status of their application by April 27th.

What is the Unite! Networking Hub?
The Unite! Networking Hub is a virtual space designed for academic and administrative staff from Unite! ’s partner universities. How does it work?
- 9 sessions per year, one per month (starting in October 2025)
- Held on the third Tuesday of each month at 13:00 CET
- Each session lasts approximately one hour
- Hosted on a virtual platform
